Što se tiče najčešćih razloga odbijanja, to je zasigurno neispravna 3D secure potvrda plaćanja (3D secure verifikacija).
Dakle, da bi kupac uspješno izvršio plaćanje sa karticom, potrebno je na sučelju svoje banke unijeti lozinku koju samo on zna. Ukoliko nije siguran koja mu je lozinka, neka klikne na „Zaboravili ste zaporku“ ili neka nazove helpdesk svoje banke.
3D Secure potvrda plaćanja je obaveza koju je definirala banka izdavatelj kartice radi povećanja sigurnosti plaćanja preko weba, a sa kojom vlasnik kartice treba biti upoznat prilikom plaćanja preko weba. Kao kada u dućanu plaćanje karticom potvrđujete PIN-om kojeg zna samo vlasnik kartice, tako se i plaćanje preko weba potvrđuje preko 3D secure sučelja banke izdavatelja pomoću lozinke, šifre, PIN-a kojeg zna samo vlasnik kartice
Već duže vrijeme u Hrvatskoj za plaćanja putem MasterCard, VISA i Maestro karticama je potrebno izvršiti dodatnu autentifikaciju plaćanja.

Napominjemo da svaka banka ima neka svoja pravila:
Primjer 1: Ukoliko se traži unos PIN-a, to uglavnom nije PIN koji se koristi prilikom dizanja novca sa bankomata, već PIN koji se kreira prilikom uključivanja uređaja koji se koristi kod net-bankinga (token, čitač kartica...) ili se šalje na prijavljeni mobitel korisnika.
Primjer 2: Ukoliko se traži unos broja osobnog dokumenta, npr. osobne iskaznice - ukoliko je kupac u međuvremenu mijenjao osobnu iskaznicu, dok ne prijavi novi broj u banci neće mu biti odobrena 3D verifikacija za online plaćanje sa tom karticom
Primjer 3: neke banke odobravaju prva 3 plaćanja bez 3D verifikacije; za svako sljedeće plaćanje je potrebno unijeti traženi podatak za odobravanje plaćanja

NAPOMENA: Kako svaka banka ima svoje odredbe oko toga što je potrebno unijeti za 3D verifikaciju (PIN, lozinku, šifru, broj osobnog dokumenta...), uvijek preporučujemo da provjerite sa svojom bankom što je točno potrebno unijeti kako bi se odobrila 3D verifikacija.
